Identifying the right chats in Microsoft Teams will become much simpler in the near future, owing to a major upgrade that aims to improve user attention.
The video conferencing platform is introducing additional filters to the Chat app on Microsoft Teams which will exclude meeting chats and bot chats, providing users with a far more simplified view of their chats.
As per the official Microsoft 365 roadmap article, the filter will function in both group chats and 1:1 discussion, assisting users in staying concentrated on the messages that are important.
The functionality is currently in progress, but the roadmap indicates next month’s release date, indicating it will be accessible in the coming days to all Teams users throughout web and Mac devices.
Microsoft that is famous for products like SharePoint, has already been striving hard to establish Microsoft Teams into employees’ daily life, offering a slew of advanced functions and changes to the platform to promote hybrid working.
This includes the option to pin messages in Teams, similar to Slack or Telegram, letting users pin a certain text to the top of the channel so that it would be constantly accessible to all attendees, irrespective of the number of messages that come after it.
According to the current Microsoft financial statistics, Teams currently have over 270 million monthly active users (MAUs), an increase from the 250 million monthly active users recorded merely 6 months ago.
According to recent statistics gathered by a software firm, virtually all (97 percent) organizations currently consider video conferencing platforms like Zoom, Webex, and Teams to be important to their business. More than half (57 percent) of companies questioned claimed they will be unable to work for more than an hour without access to their communication tools, whereas 27 percent claimed that they would fail to work even for thirty minutes.
